Christoph is initiator of the Helmholtz Association’s Solar Technology Acceleration Platform (Solar TAP) and serves as the spokesperson for its steering committee. A new initiative aimed at advancing the adoption of flexible, lightweight, and semi-transparent printed solar photovoltaics (PV). Solar TAP focuses on transferring cutting-edge PV technologies from research labs to industry, targeting applications such as agrivoltaics, building-integrated PV (BIPV), mobility, and IoT. The three-year project, launched in 2023 with €15.1 million in funding, involves several Helmholtz research centers. By fostering collaboration between industry and academia, Solar TAP aims to accelerate the commercialization of more versatile solar PV solutions, with efforts already underway through bilateral projects and technology transfer activities.
